More coverage is better- this over those adhesive backed non skid black strips

It's a must have- something on a deck's step treads. Someone, probably everyone, will eventually slip and fall. It's not if, it's when. Either from algae growth when it's wet, debris in general, like dirt, or ice. We live on the Florida state line, I've slipped on icy steps, so it'll ice practically everywhere. I fell on these exact steps before I swapped out the step treads with the green ones from the ramp we didn't reuse.

I haven't been back to this property to test out the dried product, after paint matching the two colors you see in the background, and adding the coating on this test subject. I came across it after I put the black non skid tape on the front steps. I'd preferred this coating- it covers the entire step tread, and all of them, and isn't a big sticker that'll eventually fail in some way. By either coming off because the adhesive isn't strong enough to stay on green pine boards from lowes, or wearing from the sun combined with tenants dragging heavy stuff up the steps just as I did with materials and equipment during remodel. All reasons to use a coating instead of decals. This one is the easiest and fastest to apply too. Will update once tested/inspected.

Excellent Grip and Easy to Apply

This coating added noticeable traction without making the surface look overly rough or messy. It sprayed on evenly and dried with a durable textured finish that feels much safer, especially in areas that can get slippery. Holds up well and gives a more professional result than I expected.

Makes slick spots a lot less sketchy

I used this on a couple problem areas where the floor gets slick when it is wet, and it definitely adds traction without feeling like sandpaper under bare feet. The spray goes on pretty evenly as long as you keep the can moving and do light passes instead of trying to cover everything in one heavy coat. It dries fairly quick and leaves a clear, slightly matte look that you can see up close but it does not turn the surface into an eyesore. The grip feels solid in socks and bare feet, and my dog is not slipping around as much either. Just take your time with prep and masking because any overspray that lands where you do not want it will add texture there too.
